Guidance For Practising Safe Partying From Youthsafe
Date : 2024-05-06
As young people gradually increase their independence and social activity,\r\npartying has become a popular way to meet new people and have fun. At\r\nYouthsafe, we work with individuals and organisations to raise awareness about\r\ninherent risks associated with partying and develop strategies to help young\r\npeople party safely.

Why Safe Partying Matters
\r\n\r\n
Young people are always enthusiastic about exploring new social situations\r\nlike partying. However, they aren’t always aware of the risks associated with\r\nthem. From drugs and alcohol to reckless behaviour that leads to violence, the\r\nrisk of injury significantly increases when partying.
\r\n\r\n
In fact, statistics show that an estimated 1 in 5 teenagers aged 16-17 were\r\nallowed to take alcohol to parties and that injury from alcohol-related\r\nincidents was higher among this group (Australian Institute of Family Studies\r\n2021).
\r\n\r\n
As young people become more independent, they are exposed to more risk\r\nwithout being fully aware of the risks associated with partying. This lack of awareness\r\ncan increase risk exposure. At Youthsafe, our programs promoting safe partying\r\nfor youth are designed to offer solutions to address the inherent risks of\r\npartying.
\r\n\r\n
Invest in the safety of young people during parties and similar social\r\nfunctions by leveraging the services and evidence-based approaches of\r\nYouthsafe—a trusted partner that’s worked with schools and community\r\norganisations to prevent young people from suffering avoidable injuries through\r\nhighly responsive programs.
\r\n\r\n
Young people are interested in exploring new\r\nsituations and by focusing on social safety for youth, they can be better\r\nprepared for the risks of socialising
